A message from the author
As we learn more about the brain, about behavior, and emotions, it is increasingly clear that there is a lot people can do on their own to feel better.
This is especially true for young people whose brains are actively changing, growing, and learning.
There is no reason that kids, teens, and the people who love them, shouldn't be able to use the latest research to get a better handle on their emotional responses, their mood, and to know more about how their brain works.
The more we know about ourselves, the more ability and capability we have, which applies to kids, teens, and the people who support them. This applies to everyone.
We've seen changes in the last decade, with colleges offering classes on positive psychology, on coping strategies and techniques, and general information on how to be more successfully in charge of your emotions.
This is not private information but is available to all of us. My hope is that the books I write help kids and the adults in their lives have a greater sense of power, control, and mastery over their own experiences. I want people to feel empowered and feel better.
Inside, your teen will discover:
Simple CBT techniques to defuse stress before it escalates
Neuroscience-based methods to balance emotions during high-pressure situations
Evidence-based exercises that strengthen resilience and mental clarity
Practical strategies they can apply immediately—at school, with friends, or at home
